Through the 100's mentoring, educational, anti-violence and economic development programs, young people are gaining the competitive edge. Our members continue to serve as a strong force for overcoming the cultural and financial obstacles that have limited the achievements of African-American youth, with a particular emphasis on young African-American males.

Twenty-five years ago a few trailblazing Arizona women took on the challenge of changing lives through the dignity of work for the growing number of individuals in our community relying on welfare. Their vision and passion helped develop and launch AWEE. Now, as Arizona's premier workforce development organization, boasting six locations in Maricopa County, one in Yavapai County and others sprouting up in other counties, AWEE is fulfilling a great need and being asked to partner and close the gaps where other service providers or government agencies need the extra support.

Catholic Charities has been serving people of all ages and faiths for more than 70 years. We provide approximately 52 programs at over 100 sites serving more than 213,000 people in Central and Northern Arizona communities. The first office was established in Phoenix in 1933 to advocate for children and help people suffering through the Great Depression. Over the years, we've expanded, adding two more regional service centers in the Phoenix area and two others in Prescott and Flagstaff to serve Yavapai, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo and Apache Counties.

Central Arizona Shelter Services' (CASS) mission is to empower men, women, and children with diverse needs to end their homelessness by providing shelter and supportive services.CASS Employment Services is an employment service of CASS designed to assist clients in finding permanent employment. It is our goal to match the right people with the right jobs. CASS clients are assisted through every step of the employment process.

Fresh Start is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of women; women who are facing transitional needs in their lives. Fresh Start offers a multitude of resources for women needing employment services. The mission of the Greater Phoenix Urban League is to assist African Americans, other minorities and the disadvantaged in the achievement of social and economic equality. The League implements its mission through advocacy, bridge building, program services and research.

YWCA Haven House serves as a vital transitional shelter for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence and homelessness. Haven House operates at maximum capacity, sheltering as many as 50 families every year. Our full wait list always guarantees a steady stream of families hoping to benefit from the counseling, mentoring, case management, employment & educational guidance, budgeting assistance, and life-skills training provided by our dedicated, professional staff.

Helping Hands Housing Services is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 1993. The organization was formed to provide permanent affordable housing and other support service to the working poor communities of greater Phoenix. Our housing is provided through affordable multi-family housing units (apartments) owned and operated by the organization. Our support services are free to our residents and are delivered through our Program Services department at each of our communities.

In 1981, Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates was established. Today, JAG-Arizona operates 18 programs serving students in grades 9 to 12, Middle School and Out-of-School/Dropout Recovery. JAG Model programs are designed to identify students who possess a significant number of barriers to stay in school, complete a high school diploma, secure an entry level quality job that leads to a career, and/or pursue a postsecondary education.

Welcome to Maggie's Place, a house of hospitality for pregnant women that are alone or on the streets. The mission of Maggie's Place is two-fold. First, Maggie's Place provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of our guests by providing things such as shelter, food, clothing, transportation and a supportive community. Second, Maggie's Place connects our guests to appropriate agencies and resources including prenatal care, health insurance, low-cost housing, education programs, etc.

The Support, Education, Empowerment & Directions (SEEDs) house, a project of the National Advocacy & Training Network, is located in Mesa, AZ. The program is a community-based, transitional home committed to the physical, mental, and emotional healing of women whose lives have been affected by substance abuse and violence. SEEDs collaborates with government and existing community based services, utilizing all the necessary resources to assist the women in accomplishing their goals, staying safe and maintaining their sobriety.

The National Society for American Indian Elderly (NSAIE) was established in 1987 as a 501 (c) (3) organization to improve the quality of life for on-reservation and rural American Indian senior citizens by supporting a network of tribally established and administered services. We strive to increase access to supportive services that will allow American Indian Elderly to stay in their homes, as respected members of their communities and keepers of their traditions.
