Summary of Job Duties:The ORSP Partner is responsible for providing support related to sponsored projects for each of the colleges. This role requires close collaborations with college faculty and financial staff to help facilitate grant financial management. The ORSP partner will provide support to principal investigators, staff and finance directors to help efficiently manage grants while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as institutional policies. Effective communication skills and an understanding of finance are vital to succeed in this role. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree (any field);

  • Microsoft Office Suite;

  • General knowledge of accounting software.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field;

  • Experience with Google products including Drive, Sheets, and Docs. Adobe Acrobat Pro;

  • Experience with the UA Foundation accounting system (Blackbaud) and Argos. Workday;

  • Workday finance experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support college faculty and staff by providing information necessary to execute grant related financial processes;

  • Liaise with the Academic Departments, Office of Finance and Administration and other financial partners;

  • Provide training to faculty and staff on the use of Workday to obtain grant related financial information;

  • Assist faculty and staff in investigating anomalies;

  • Assist faculty in determining appropriate object classes for grant budgeting;

  • Assist faculty in developing proposal budgets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex financial information in a computerized accounting environment;

  • Ability to stay current on changes in accounting for sponsored projects;

  • Ability to work within and across department lines to solve problems and create new solutions;

  • Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and be innovative and creative in the development of accounting procedures;

  • Skilled in using Google Sheets, Workday, and Microsoft Office in a large and complex accounting system;

  • General knowledge and understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

  • Ability to interpret and apply budgetary and fiscal policies and procedures;

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
