YOUR ROLE

As an Alcohol Server/Bartender, you are part of a team that prepares and serves beverages to our guests, using proper equipment and ingredients. This position will greet guest, answer questions regarding alcohol, recommend menu items, and handle basic cleaning duties. Bartenders should be engaging, friendly personality and should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable and personable. In this position, you may be required to work early mornings and/or late evening hours including weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Welcoming guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders. Ensure product is in place and prepared for service. Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guest.
  • Checking identification to ensure guests are the legal age to purchase alcohol. Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bars are well stocked. Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations. Handles customer complaints, actively resolves internal problems wherever possible, and follows through with necessary actions and effective communication.
  • Handling cash, credit, debit card, and meal plan transactions; ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons. Balancing the cash register. Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment. Ensure safe handling of food, alcohol and equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skills in understanding bartender tools and techniques.
  • Skilled in problem solving.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members, and guest.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to transport/move a maximum of 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Title 4 Alcohol Server Certification or ability to obtain prior to serving alcohol and within 30 days of hire.
  • In this position, you may be required to work early mornings and/or late evening hours including weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required and Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; OR,
  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant work experience; OR,
  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of relevant work experience;
  • OR, any equivalent combination of education and work experience.
