Responsibilities

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital, newly opened, is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the Scottsdale, Arizona population and the greater Phoenix region. Our 120-bed facility offers specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions. We are seeking a Health Information Management Specialist/Coder to join our growing team!

  • This is a full-time, in-office position; the schedule will be Monday - Friday
  • Via Linda is located at 9160 E Horseshoe Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85258 Must be willing/able to commute to this location
  • PLEASE NOTE: the duties of this position are not limited to coding patient records. This individual will also assist in all other areas of the HIM department

The Health Information Management Specialist/Coder Analyst is responsible for assembling and analyzing medical records in accordance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, performing audits in accordance with established federal rules and regulations, abstracting and coding clinical data using standard classification systems, processing requests for patient health information and coding the medical record to the highest level of severity and following all ICD-10 guidelines. Performs a variety of tasks and assists the Director of Medical Records in other clerical duties.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduation from a medical records program preferred.

Experience: One (1) year experience, including ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM coding, in healthcare preferred Previous Behavioral Health coding experience preferred.
