Job Summary

Shipping & Receiving Specialist will be responsible for the daily processing of all outbound units as well as processing receipts for all incoming materials and units coming in for repair. Verifies and maintains records on routine incoming and outgoing shipments. Ships and receives merchandise or material and arranges the transportation of goods, while following policies, procedures and safety regulations. Other responsibilities as assigned will also need to be processed or completed. The FAA Shipping & Receiving Specialist reports to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor


Job Core Responsibilities

* Processing Shipments using FedEx and UPS shipping procedures
* Processing Receipts of incoming material and units for repair
* Work closely with team leads to make sure Visual is correct and up to date.
* Works closely with Compliance on incoming materials and Air Waybill approvals and tracking.
* Contributes to the development of processes and procedures
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
* Identifies, controls and documents non-conforming materials per established quality procedures.
* Ensures the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components per established quality procedures.
* Maintains the order and proper storage of all aircraft material.
* Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

* Regular moving, and lifting, of packages weighing 10 - 45 lbs.
* Periodic moving, and lifting, of packages weighing 75 - 100 lbs.
* Perform lifting from shelf to cart, lifting from cart to bench, moving from bench to pallet, etc.
* Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf.
* Able to use standing lift truck
* Hand-write and stamp necessary documentation.
* Considerable interpersonal contact, both in person and over telephone.
* Considerable use of computer, telephone, filing cabinets, and other general office equipment.
* Complete data-entry, keyboarding, hand-write and stamp necessary documentation.
* Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling, exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces


Job Specifications

Education: High school education or equivalent.

Experience: 2 years prior related work experience

Skills:

* Ability to work within deadlines in a fast paced environment
* Ability to review documentation to make correct shipping/receiving decisions
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS, safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings
* Capability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
