Responsibilities

New temporary project opportunity (up to 18 months) for a Finance Controller in the Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology group.

    Full responsibility for all accounting close and reporting for the legal entity which supports multiple Business Units.
  • Create efficient and effective month and quarter-end closing processes and manage internal/ external audits.
  • Prepare financial statements according to US GAAP, and review with leadership monthly.
  • Maintain a robust internal control system and overall controls environment.
  • Oversee management of the cost and inventory accounting systems, and drive improvement of COGS and manufacturing variance reporting.
  • Effectively manage and influence improvements in working capital efficiency.
  • Perform trending and other analyses to provide valuable financial insight to BNSM management.
  • Actively support the corporate accounting team as needed.
  • Work with the corporate tax team to facilitate timely statutory reporting for the legal entity.
  • Ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Minimum 10 years accounting, reporting, and management work experience with progressively increasing responsibility; exceptional knowledge of general, cost, technical accounting, and US GAAP
  • Demonstrated success in managing both internal and external audit engagements.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, computer, analytical, and technical communication, organizational, and presentation skills with fluent written and spoken English.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
  • Strong SAP or other large ERP system experience is highly preferred, BPC knowledge is also preferred.
  • Energetic and self-motivated with strong people management skills with demonstrated success leading an accounting team within a rapidly changing and diverse, multi-national commercial work environment.
  • Initiative-taking, hands-on approach, results orientation, priority setting and high level of professional curiosity.
  • Demonstrated success as a trusted advisor, business partner, leader, and change agent with ability to navigate complex organizational topics to gain agreement and alignment.
  • Diplomatically addresses complex topics, effectively negotiates with internal and external audiences and builds positive working relationships.
  • Possesses leadership competencies, collaboration, teamwork and influencing abilities, effective written and verbal communication, critical thinking skills, plus a drive for results, change and innovation.
  • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
