Our college recruiting program is aimed at students who have completed their sophomore year of college or beyond.

Examples of Electrical Engineer Co-Op Daily Activities:

  • Work under the direction and support of senior level engineer(s) on basic electrical designs; Support maintenance in troubleshooting electrical controls.
  • Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing automation, including electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Maintain personal safety around equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Support plant and Operational and Maintenance Excellence goals, including continuous improvement / Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Engineering degree program, Electrical or Industrial Technology discipline. Preference given to students located within 50 miles of the assigned Olin / Winchester location.
  • Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin / Winchester. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
  • Must have completed sophomore year prior to first assignment with Olin / Winchester.
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) June - December 2024. Not eligible for virtual work.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with availability and desire to work a minimum of three (3) terms with no more than one of those terms occurring over the summer.
  • Completion of at least three (3) credit hours in Electrical Engineering circuits classes preferred.
  • Possess a desire to work in high-volume manufacturing with numerous processes and equipment to include, but not limited to, PLCs, motors, drives, contractors, power supplies, transformers, and sensors.
  • Experience in ammunition and firearms with knowledge of the shooting sports industry a plus.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa.
