Shop Associate

William Charles Construction is in search for an Shop Associate Civil Construction Yard within the Springfield, IL & surrounding areas. The Shop Associate Civil Construction Yard is responsible for perform day-to-day activities as directed by Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities
    Perform day-to-day activities as directed by Purchasing Manager
  • Assist in equipment moves.
  • Unload, sort and store materials returned from job locations.
  • Load job materials on truck for delivery to job locations.
  • Dispose of obsolete materials.
  • Transport job materials to job locations.
  • Use of hand tools to perform carpentry work.
  • Clean up tools returned from job locations.
  • Maintain company buildings and grounds.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Training provided on site.
  • Forklift Training provided on site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and have good public relation skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to recognize and deal with priorities
  • Light carpentry skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license

While performing the functions of this job, the employee will regularly work in a shop/yard environment but will also be required to work outside in all kinds of weather. Will also require lifting objects up to 75 pounds.
