Position Summary:

Join our exciting & dedicated team at Vallen as an Inventory Control Operator II. In this position, you will perform physical cycle counts and inventory audits, reconcile counts and recounts, and ensure inventory is secured, properly identified and readily accessible.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs physical cycle counts and inventory audits; reconciles count and recounts; ensures inventory is secured, properly identified, and readily accessible.
  • Adjusts required inventory based on counts; makes bin changes as necessary; ensures the quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments are accurate.
  • Research product and/or sku discrepancies.
  • Assists with root cause analysis for lineouts; maintains line out data and keeps field management abreast.
  • Runs Aged Inventory and Min/Max reports; develops lists of potential materials for return to manufacturers or sale to other users or resellers.
    • Solicits returns for sale.
    • Prepares and ships materials for return or sale.
    • Monitors credits or receipts of payments for returns or sales.
  • Reviews min/max levels of Reserve Inventories and recommends changes to Site Management.
  • Seeks out permission from the appropriate end-users to adjust minimum and maximum levels on the set-up sheets and in Control.
  • Maintains a current, approved list of "Customer Responsible Items".
  • May assist with performing routine inspections on equipment, working tools, and products.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Job Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent with 1+ years related work experience. Experience should include:

  • Strong computer knowledge and aptitude to learn various applications mandatory; experience with a Warehouse Management System preferred - knowledge of Control and SX.e a plus; or knowledge of manufacturing operational software preferred.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstration of basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
  • Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.

  • The work environment may not be temperature controlled; must have the ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments; must be able to work in dusty environments.
  • Long periods working on a computer and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.

  • May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • May be required to drive a forklift and/or operate other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to pass forklift and/or other warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Must be able to handle and work physical inventory; required to lift up to 25 lbs. or greater with assistance following standard operating and safety procedures. Other physical requirements including, regularly being required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
