Terros Health's Crisis team provide behavioral health, prevention, education and crisis stabilization services. They serve children, adolescents, adults, senior adults and families as well as schools, neighborhoods, organizations and businesses by providing phone, walk-in and in-home crisis counseling to clients to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior. Terros Health is now hiring for On Call Crisis Specialists for the Bullhead City area.

The On-Call Crisis Specialist - Northern Arizona will be part of the mobile crisis team, this position responds on-site to individuals in crisis whose issues cannot be resolved by the crisis call center telephonically. Utilizing best practices in crisis intervention, the On-Call Crisis Specialist responds to and supports individuals and families in crisis.

Your duties would include but are not limited to:

    Performing mobile crisis interventions primarily in hospital settings, with the potential to also respond in a variety of other settings including although not limited to individual residences, schools, and group homes. Finish
  • When on-call, will arrive to the scene of a request for mobile crisis intervention within an average of 45 minutes and no more than 1 hour.
  • Work effectively and respectfully with clients, families, schools, first responders, the crisis call center, and all others involved
  • Develop short-term crisis management/safety plans with clients or families including having knowledge/understanding of the involuntary petition process.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and/ or long-term counseling when appropriate.
  • Support psychiatric hospital placements by providing coordination, planning and facilitation with hospital staff.
  • Maintain client records and completes required documentation in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner
  • Show ability to effectively and professionally express self orally and in writing
  • Display flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

Ability to drive throughout Northern Arizona region including in potentially adverse weather conditions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS/GED plus at least 1.5 years' experience in behavioral health - or - an Associate's degree in behavioral health- or
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, -or- any Bachelor's degree plus one year experience in behavioral health - or
  • Must have or obtain a valid Arizona Driver License, be (21 years of age) with a minimum 4 years driving experience. Must meet requirements of Terros driving policy.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card within 7 working days of employment.
  • Must have or be able to attain CPR/First Aid certification
  • Proficiency with computer-based systems including electronic health records, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to perform physical duties associated with this role
  • Access to personal vehicle to drive to the scene of mobile crisis interventions (primarily hospital settings)

Preferred:

  • A Master's degree or higher in the field of behavioral health, Arizona BH licensure
  • 1-3 years of Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and/or other crisis management skills
