Job Description

About the Role: We are looking for a Nonclinical Laboratory Technician to join the Biosciences team. In this role, you will work with Biosciences associates in support of technical activities. This is a hands-on laboratory position in a regulated environment, focused on nonclinical activities in support of new product development, and/or commercial device evaluation as well as supporting internal research and capabilities development.

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Biosciences associates and other subject matter experts to develop and conduct scientifically rigorous and compliant non-clinical studies to meet established timelines
  • Perform laboratory duties such as ordering supplies and/or equipment, laboratory cleaning, media/reagent preparation, and equipment maintenance, qualification, and calibration
  • Drive organization and coordination of laboratory spaces (e.g., managing inventory, ensuring laboratory quality and compliance, maintaining associate access list, and best practice and SOP documents)
  • Train laboratory users on best practices and relevant SOPs
  • Participate in continuous laboratory improvement efforts
  • Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position
  • Adhere to good documentation practices
  • Execute on additional responsibilities as required within the scope of position

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Biological Science OR Associates Degree in Biological Science with a minimum 5 years experience as a lab technician
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in conducting studies that utilize cadaveric models
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and ability to follow established safety practices
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to accurately collect data and document laboratory activities in the quality system or in lab notebooks
  • Proficiency in typical office computer software such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to follow protocols and standard operating procedures accurately, repetitively, and without distraction
  • Ability to work with various laboratory instruments, software, supplies, and reagents as well as with human and animal blood and tissues in a safe environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or another relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience executing biological laboratory based assays and techniques (e.g., ELISA and quantitative enzymatic assays, aseptic technique, micro- and serological pipetting, cell culture maintenance)
  • Experience with laboratory maintenance, inventory management, and organization; including experience working with blood and blood components in a safe environment; and experience working in a quality system and/or within a regulated industry
