Position Highlights

We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences, working in Prof. Rongguang Liang's research lab. Our focus is on pushing the boundaries of 3D printing technology, particularly in the realm of organic and organic-inorganic polymeric materials with desired optical properties or functionalities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop novel materials suitable for advanced 3D printing techniques, particularly two-photon polymerization and vat photopolymerization.
  • Establish correlations between material performance and structural characteristics.
  • Contribute to the conception, design, and execution of research projects aimed at addressing specific challenges.
  • Pursue independent research interests while collaborating closely with internal and external scientists across diverse disciplines.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team environment to achieve research objectives.
  • Thoroughly document research findings, publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, and present results at conferences.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of sol-gel chemistry.
  • Knowledge of powder-based organic-inorganic liquid suspensions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, or a related field upon hire.
  • Demonstrated expertise in monomer synthesis and polymer synthesis.
  • Demonstrated experience in various material characterization techniques such as SEM, TGA, DSC, DMA, FTIR, etc.
  • Proven track record of innovative experimental design and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with photo-based 3D printing techniques.
