Cloud Architect

Job Summary: The Cloud Architect will be responsible for leading architectural reviews as part of the Avnet Cloud Business Office (CBO). They will approve technical designs with a heavy emphasis on sustainable total cost of ownership (TCO) and advise Avnet business units on aligning to best practices. The Cloud Architect will also assist with strategy and roadmap planning for the CBO.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural reviews as part of the Avnet Cloud Business Office (CBO)
  • Approve technical designs with a heavy emphasis on sustainable total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Advise Avnet business units on aligning to best practices
  • Assist with strategy and roadmap planning for the CBO
  • Develop enterprise workflows
  • Deliver in a Cloud Center of Excellence or Enterprise Architecture team

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in cloud architecture
  • Experience with Azure Services such as AKS, OpenShift, App Services, App Service Environments, Databricks, SQL, and Storage
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) in areas such as FinOps, Governance, and Security
  • Experience developing enterprise workflows
  • Experience with Azure Services such as Data Factory, Virtual Machines, Windows VDIs, and Container Apps
  • Experience with Azure CAF in areas such as BCDR, Monitoring/Observability, and Networking

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture principles and best practices

Work Experience:

  • Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
