Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a motivated and qualified Department Manager to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be able to perform duties supporting the direction and vision of the overall discipline. Oversee, direct, and manage the work effort of assigned staff throughout the Phoenix region for the Traffic Planning Department.


Responsibilities

  • Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
  • Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
  • Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
  • Develops a marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
  • Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge and expertise is required.
  • Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects.
  • Reviews monthly productivity and man-hour utilization rates, reports and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to clients for all reporting managers. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
  • Assigns projects to staff and schedule work.
  • Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 15 years' experience, preferably with Transportation Planning/Traffic Engineering and Land Development experience.

  • Professional Engineer's License (AZ) required, PTOE/PTP preferable.

  • Experience with ADOT/ITE/AASHTO standards/publications.

  • Must have experience preparing Traffic Impact Studies and ADOT Permit applications.

  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).

  • Must be able to present before clients and town boards.
    Must be able to delegate work to junior staff.

  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience managing and supervising the work efforts of assigned staff regarding scope, schedule, quality and budget of projects.
