As the Benefits Vendor Supervisor, you will be responsible for developing and managing mutually beneficial relationships with the County's employee benefits vendor partners to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of services. You will ensure the delivery of services by benefits vendor partners are compliant with contract provisions, County policies and procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations. We also count on you to handle project management, program implementation, and oversee the accuracy of transmitted enrollment data.

We Require

  • Four years of experience in the area of self-insured benefits administration or contracts management
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain or a related field
  • Other combinations of education or experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications

Job Contributions

  • Supervises benefits staff
  • Collaborates with others in the Benefits and Wellness Division to continually assess and improve the relationship with benefits vendor partners and ensure service levels meet or exceed expectations
  • Ensures that meaningful, measurable service level agreements exist and are regularly reviewed for all vendor partners
  • Resolves escalated issues related to how benefit plans and services are administered by benefits vendor partners
  • In collaboration with the HRIS team, staff, and vendor partners, designs, tests, and monitors ongoing and Open Enrollment integrations into and out of the HRIS, including the timely resolution of errors or mismatches
  • Ensures there are processes in place to ensure compliance with state statutes and federal laws related to benefits administration
  • Participates in and/or leads the Request for Proposal process for the Benefits and Wellness Division, which may include collecting utilization data, demographic data summaries, claims costs, plan design information, etc., and as needed, participates in the evaluation of submissions and recommendation of awards
  • Performs comprehensive research and analysis on complex issues and projects related to benefit design and administration to benchmark best practices in the area of benefits administration

Working Conditions

Work occurs primarily in an indoor office environment. Tasks require manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment and manage frequent interruptions, time pressures, high work volumes, and multiple, complicated, and unscheduled tasks. Job includes team-oriented activities and interaction with all levels of County management and personnel, and the public. Responsibilities require concentration, accuracy, ethical conduct, and a professional demeanor.
