Position Highlights | This Position will be responsible for assessing stakeholder needs and developing, delivering, and evaluating an effective outcome-based program in Agriculture and Natural Resources in La Paz County, with emphasis on Alfalfa and Cotton, the two main crops in the area, but not discounting other crops grown in the area. The position will work to identify community needs through existing data from various agencies (i.e. USDA, AZDA, NASS, etc.), as well as gain information through surveys and discussions with stakeholders, organizations, and local agencies. Programming will focus on two strategic plan areas: disseminate science-based information on crop and pest management technologies of the crops grown in the area, and building good relationships with stakeholders, organizations, county and tribal governments, and agencies critical in the development and delivery of a successful Ag and Natural Resources program. Consults and collaborates with State Extension Specialists and Ag Agents to provide educational programs, crop management, and pest and disease diagnosis to address field problems.
