Position Highlights | Two positions are available with this job description. The successful applicant will be involved in research objectives involving characterization of insect-transmitted plant pathogen interactions and emergent plant viral pathogens. Specific tasks will involve insect transmission/biological assays, DNA and RNA isolation from plants and insects, cDNA synthesis, primer design; PCR, RT-PCR, routine PCR-, real-time qPCR- and ddPCR- amplification assays; molecular cloning; plasmid purification, colony PCR, Sanger DNA sequencing and sequence analysis; dsRNA synthesis; other contemporary techniques. This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.
