Job Description

TSC is seeking a Test Pilot & Project Engineer, in Sierra Vista, AZ or Remote Telework. This position serves in the Airborne Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (AISR) Division.

The successful candidate will serve as a Test Pilot & Project Engineer, a focal point to further enable the Division to satisfy internal research and development, investment, or direct customer projects aligned to the Division Manager's and Director of Special Program's objectives. This position will satisfy Test related Management responsibilities on and off site related to further establishing rigor to Test Planning, Risk Management Systems, and Test Execution for several projects concurrently, both existing technology and new technologies. This position serves as a technical focal point bridging the gap between program management, engineering resources and operators, in the assigned production portfolio areas. Works to develop and mature test requirements, test plans, test programs, text execution and risk management strategies which enable increased probability of success to deliver new technological deliverables within approved scope. This role is pivotal to supporting the entire team's ability to grow the scope of available Products or Services with a variety of Industry Partners for globally oriented market in a high stake's environment. Travel up to 50% is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience as a Project Engineer or Test Project Lead directly in support of Group 3-5 RPA/UAS technologies along with a qualification in one or more crew positions
  • FAA Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating with a minimum 1,000hrs operator hours in a Group 3-5 RPA/UAS
  • Previous stakeholder demonstrating aspects of research, development, and first article tech deliverables
  • Ability to lead or manage cradle-to-grave test related activities and execute as PIC for new systems, subsystems, or capabilities with support from cross functional engineering resources
  • Willingness to fly and operate a variety of single engine general aviation aircraft, experimental aircraft, and RPA/UAS as part of primary responsibilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance, with a valid US passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past experience as a successful ambassador of new technologies during customer or marketing demonstrations
  • Previous stakeholder in a USAF PoR Developmental Test Team, or Operational Test Team, of AISR Systems
  • Previous qualifications or certifications; USAF IFTU, USAF Weapons School, USAF Test Pilot School, NTPS, or similar
  • "First flight" field test planning and execution of entire systems, subsystems, or mission payloads
  • Experience developing requirements from undefined customer needs; receiving positive customer feedback
