Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Performing and managing contaminated site assessments, remedy evaluation, including preparing investigation work plans, feasibility studies, removal action work plans, remedy design, and remedy implementation;
  • Performing and managing site assessment fieldwork, pilot and bench-scale programs for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater technologies;
  • Preparing remediation action plans for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation projects including drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and technical specifications;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria;
  • Business development; obtaining repeat business from existing clients, and leading proposal preparation;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Data analysis, including coordination and review of maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications; and coordination of database management; and
  • At times, the job may also include fieldwork, involving multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in earth science (geology) or environmental engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology, hydrogeology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, mining or water resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with site assessment and remedial investigation. (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • An outstanding track record for task management, client interaction, and technical leadership. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
