Position Summary:
This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with a smooth transition from academic nurse to professional Registered Nurse (RN). Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned. Must be able to coordinate the delivery of patient care on the Unit; completes required documentation; participates inpatient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process.
Reports to: Med Surg/Tele Director
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
X Associate's degree Required within 90 days of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
BLS Required Within 30 days (If ACLS is current, BLS is not required).
Licenses:
Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License required within 120 days of hire.
ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
Competencies:
EKG Course and NIHSS Stroke within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
