Peoria's Public Works department has an excellent opportunity for a driver with a commercial driver's license in their transit division. The purpose of this position is to provide transportation services to citizens. This is accomplished by safely and efficiently operating transit vehicles. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • A safety minded person, who provides safe and efficient vehicle operations for transporting passengers.
  • A people person, who assists passengers, including seniors and disabled, in boarding and exiting the vehicle as well as securing mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) in the vehicle.
  • Able to provide general information to public regarding Dial-A-Ride services.
  • An excellent communicator with attention to detail.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduation or equivalency
  • Experience: 1-2 years experience of related experience
  • Physical Demands: Work requires moderate physical exertion. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 10 and 25 pounds.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Arizona Class "C" Driver's License (with Passenger Endorsement) upon hire
