Company Overview
Indianapolis Teaching Fellows provides a clear path into the classroom for exceptional individuals looking to become teachers in Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). Indianapolis Teaching Fellows looks for outstanding professionals and recent college graduates from all fields and backgrounds to bring their experience, knowledge, and records of achievement to our classrooms to positively impact the lives of students and, ultimately, to improve student achievement.
Indianapolis Teaching Fellows is a highly selective program that selects exceptional candidates and trains these individuals during an intensive summer preparation program to start teaching in critical shortage areas in the fall of 2008. In addition to summer training, all Fellows will enroll at Marian College for a two year licensure program in order to obtain an Initial Indiana teaching license by June 2010. Fellows will attend classes with Marian 2-3 nights a week while teaching full-time during the day. Your opportunity to make a difference in education is right now. Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Eugene White, IPS is implementing a comprehensive strategic plan to ensure greater student achievement and quality instruction. As a Fellow, you will become part of a powerful network of like-minded professionals and work with other progressive education leaders to make systemic improvements in Indianapolis Public Schools by impacting academic achievement. You will benefit from a streamlined application and selection process and, if selected, earn a teaching license while receiving a full-time teacher’s salary. Indianapolis Teaching Fellows is committed to providing the students of Indianapolis Public Schools with a dedicated group of teachers who will work to increase their level of achievement and help to prepare them through academic success. We are looking for outstanding candidates to teach math, science, special education, or Spanish. Applications are being accepted immediately. |
