Qlarant is looking for a subject matter expert in health system high reliability organization (HRO) principles and implementation, as well as a change and performance management professional to support the Veteran Affair’s (VA) mission to become a HRO. This position provides advanced level of expertise on high reliability science to teams, is responsible for developing, designing and executing projects to ensure project success within a large integrated health system. Position is home-based.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • System and process analysis with evaluation and recommendations to increase performance.
  • Collaborates with the customer to design and adapt processes and deliverables to meet changing needs.
  • Utilizes measurement systems to evaluate performance and improvement.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement; assists teams in developing and implementing improvement strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of HRO science in healthcare system.
  • Ability to facilitate organizational and process change on a large scale.
  • Ability to facilitate and consult, using a data driven approach.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to an array of stakeholders (clinical and non-clinical) in healthcare settings.
  • Implement, facilitate and sustain HRO principles and practice.
  • Utilization of a data driven approach to monitor, trend HRO aligned data points and then design tactics to achieve HRO performance and sustainment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with VA leaders to understand and organize HRO efforts.
  • Ability to contribute innovation and processes of HRO.
  • Ability to surface and spread promising HRO efforts.


Required Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of large integrated health care system consulting experience.
  • Four (4) years of this experience shall be directly related to high reliability organization (HRO) implementation in a healthcare setting.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • Experience in Veteran Affairs Health System (preferred)
