Job Description
This is a multi-level position Sr. HPC Systems Technologist I (G08) or Sr. HPC Systems Technologist II (G09) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and requirements for this position. Job Description:Provide IT High Performance Computing Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. Understanding of Windows Server internals, and knowledge of Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. Work as a team member in a fast paced technological environment. Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of high performance computing hardware, software and operating systems (OS). Understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering community. Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on high performance computing systems. Work across IT functions to standardize processes and procedures. Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT HPC processes and procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members. Required Skills / Certifications:
- Bachlor degree in IT or STEM realted field or equivalent experience is required and 4+ years of directly related experience

- Must be able to obtain a final Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance
- Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date
- In-depth working experience in Windows and or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening 4 years' experience maintaining a medium sized Microsoft Windows Server environment

- In-depth knowledge of OS internals, file system structures, and machine architectures Intermediate knowledge of Redhat Enterprise Linux Knowledge of data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
- Familiar with TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, routers, and their basic operations Knowledge and experience using Information Technology project lifecycle
- Familiar with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools Develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
- Experience to lead special projects and manage resources Ability to train others in standard IT HPC processes and procedures
- Able to lift 15 pounds Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours
- Highly Desired Skills / Certifications:
- An active DoD Secret Clearance
- An active DoD Top Secret, TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility
- Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
- Direct working experience with NISPOM, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF
- 6 years' experience maintaining a medium sized Server environment
- Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management in an IT domain
- Basic to advance scripting experience
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
- Advanced hands on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting and authentication service integration (LDAP)
- Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
- Experience with Windows HPC Edition
- Working knowledge of High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia
- Experience training and mentoring colleagues
- Desire and ability to work as a contributing team member
- Effective customer and communications skills
- Ability to work under time constraints, self-starter, customer focused, adaptable and willing to work varying assignments
- Organizational skills to include: attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask
