Position Summary

The Division of Human Resources Recruitment and Outreach team is seeking a committed colleague who will quickly become a vital resource and trusted problem solver.


This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative individual to provide data analysis services. You will be responsible for identifying key metrics in the areas of sourcing, time to fill, application rates, applicant diversity and retention. You would also be responsible for identifying trends related to talent acquisition goals and initiatives.

University Career Architecture Project
The University of Arizona is in the process of creating a new classification and compensation architecture. This University Career Architecture Project (UCAP) will revolutionize the way we think about professions and manage compensation at the UA. It is a two year initiative that will replace the current classified staff and appointed professional categories of employment with market-based job functions and families. Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day in the life of a Data Analyst includes:

*Manage our existing data set which includes day-to-day and ad hoc reporting needs
*Identify external data sources to help benchmark and execute strategic initiatives
*Identify key trends related recruitment and hiring processes
*Analyze existing data, systems, and tools to provide data management recommendations
*Partner on the creation of a user interface built to visualize data for end users
*Partner on the creation of visual aids supporting data storytelling
*Provide training, support, and straightforward recommendations to non-technical business users and customers

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

*Skilled in data analysis and reporting
*Skilled in interpersonal communications
*Skilled in critical thinking and problem solving
*Ability to present complex data to all types of audiences
*Ability to work independently and within a team

Minimum Qualifications

*Bachelors' degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
*Three or more years of relevant experience.
*Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience working with HR data
*Experience working in a higher education environment
*Experience in one or more university administrative systems (PeopleSoft Human Capital Management or Cornerstone Recruiting system)
*Experience performing analysis using various techniques (statistical analysis, regression analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling) to identify patterns in data.
