Position Summary

The Office of Communications at the University of Arizona Health Sciences is seeking a highly qualified professional for the role of Web Content/Email Marketing Manager who will maintain and coordinate the development of new content for the UArizona Health Sciences website, and manage and execute email communications including newsletters and campaigns in support of Health Sciences brand marketing strategies.

The University of Arizona is in the process of creating a new classification and compensation architecture. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain the content of the website: create, edit, update and publish approved pieces of content using a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Coordinate the development of new pieces of web content, including text, graphics, video and interactive elements in consultation with other Communications teams; identify content that is out of date for revision.
  • Optimize web content to be search engine friendly.
  • Regularly test site functionality, initiate corrective actions and recommend user interface enhancements based on User Experience (UX) design methodologies.
  • Maintain a taxonomy drawn from content objectives and ensure all website pages are tagged with relevant keywords and themes.
  • Promote and maintain website accessibility.
  • Develop email communications strategy with various internal stakeholders to identify proper approach to increase audience awareness, engagement, retention, and growth.
  • Manage email campaigns, including setup, testing, deployment and reporting.
  • Establish key metrics, create review cycle and provide insights on audience intelligence.
  • Partner with other Communications teams to optimize email content.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Experience developing web content based on strategic objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, preferably Drupal.
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and additional Google Marketing Platform tools.
  • Experience using editing and publishing software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and UX design.
  • Experience working with email marketing and marketing automation platforms.
  • Ability to think critically and make optimization decisions tied to data analytics.
  • Demonstrated understanding of email marketing best practices.
  • Ability to present technical information to nontechnical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge and expertise of concepts, principles, and practices of visual content production, a general understanding of related disciplines, and general management principles.
  • Problem-solving skills involving analysis and interpretation, and innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to review the effectiveness of visual content projects and production, and ability to make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
