The University of Arizona Cancer Center Community Outreach and Engagement (UACC COE) looks forward to welcoming a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct groundbreaking community engaged research. COE is a dynamic interdisciplinary team situated in one of the 50 National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country. The team has a primary mission of bridging the UACC with the communities in Arizona to ensure excellence in multidisciplinary, culturally relevant research, cancer prevention, and treatment. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work closely with the UACC Associate Director for COE, Dr. Jennifer Hatcher, report to the UACC Program Director of Policy & Translational Research, and be a part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary team of community engaged workers including community health workers, researchers, data analysts, and other partners. We are interested in candidates whose research interest aligns with the mission of COE, cancer, and disparate communities of the Southwest with an emphasis on cancer disparities, management of epidemiological data collection and analysis and dissemination, policy analysis, and grant writing. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, self-starter, who embraces the wide-ranging cultural diversity of the people of Arizona. There will be opportunities for mentorship and participation in workshops and conferences, as well as opportunities to present in seminars, co-teach a public health disparities course, and lead the development of data-driven manuscripts. The postdoctoral research associate will contribute to developing new projects based on community and UACC priorities and will be expected to participate collaboratively in all COE activities. This position is located in our Phoenix offices, however, travel between campuses and throughout the state of Arizona will be required to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work; frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds; days and schedule to be Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and to include extended hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
