Position Summary | The University of Arizona – Tucson, Department of Medical Imaging is seeking a Division Chief for Musculoskeletal Imaging. We are currently accepting applications for an Associate Professor with fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Imaging. Prospective candidates require strong leadership and management skills and a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation and education. The applicant should be proficient in functional tumor imaging and MR Neurography. The Department provides clinical service to the Banner University Medical Center - Tucson (the sole Level 1 Trauma Center in southern Arizona), the Diamond Children's Medical Center, University of Arizona Cancer Center, Banner University Medical Center - South Campus, the Advanced Breast Imaging, and North Campus Imaging Center. The Banner/University of Arizona Medical Center comprises a 650-bed tertiary care hospital and substantial outpatient practice. The hospital has three MR scanners (two1.5T and one 3T), which are equipped with advanced fast-scanning capabilities, three CTs, and advanced ultrasound. The newly opened outpatient facility has state-of-the-art PET/CT, 64-slice CT, two 3T MR scanners and ultrasound. The UA has a strong tradition of clinical care excellence, driven by innovation and discovery, with the Department of Medical Imaging faculty having extensive collaborations across departments in the College of Medicine and other colleges. There is active conferencing across the spectrum of specialties. The clinical case load serves as an excellent resource for our training programs, which includes both Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology Residencies and multiple accredited fellowship training programs. Musculoskeletal Imaging has a non- ACGME fellowship approved for three candidates. The Research Division includes 12 research faculty and many cross-appointed faculty in Biomedical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Biochemistry and Chemistry and 14,000 sq. ft. of dedicated research space, providing a fertile ground for translational research. The Division is nationally recognized for their expertise in MR, CT and Gamma-Ray Imaging.
