Position Summary | The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Research Scholar, Privacy Problem-Solving Project. The Privacy Problem-Solving Project ("the Project") is a flagship institution within the University of Arizona's TechLaw program. The core mission of the Project is to translate what we know so far about the law, economics, and psychology of privacy into concrete business practice guidance and model legislation. The core work of the Project includes a unique form of consulting. The Project offers pro bono assistance to individuals or organizations struggling to manage a specific privacy-related issue. Our multidisciplinary team will analyze the problem with sensitivity to the pragmatic goals and realistic costs and benefits that the particular problem raises, while also managing the social and psychological reactions that data innovations can invoke. The Senior Research Scholar will work closely with Prof. Jane Bambauer to form appropriate working groups for each consulting project, to provide substantive expertise to each project, and to manage the workload and schedule. The Senior Research Scholar will also engage in public discourse by writing academic works and running a conference. This is a part-time externally funded one year position offered at .49 FTE with an expected start date of 1/1/2020.
